An evening on the lake

Our friends Fortman and Britt invited us to bring Cooper out for his first boat ride. He LOVED it!

So much so that he slept in until 8:00 this morning! (Celebrate!!)

We weren't sure how he would like a boat ride since he had never been on it before...but we should have known our little water bug would love it!

As Cooper is looking out at the lake he whispers very seriously "big bath". Cracked me up!

We rode around the lake and then stopped at the beach so Cooper could run and play a little bit. The last time I took him to a pool he wanted NO part of it so I figured he wouldn't even go near the water. Oh quite the opposite. He had no problem with it!

Little does he know that we are going back on Friday for a couple hours!

We love spending the Fourth out at the lake. We're bringing Coop for a little while on Friday then Jon and I are going out for some adult time.

So excited!!

Have a Happy and Safe Fourth everyone!!

Recipe-Crockpot Chicken Tacos

This meal is suuuuper easy!! Like-almost too easy!

1 package of chicken breasts
1 jar of salsa
1 cup of chicken broth
1 package of taco seasoning

Put the above ingredients in the crock pot.

Medium heat for 6 hours.

Easy peasy, right?

Last night we ate it with soft taco shells, but today for lunch I just ate it over rice and it was just as amazing!!!

All three of us loved it!

Father's Day 2014

We started Father's Day off with breakfast-pancakes to be exact!

After breakfast Jon opened his gifts-we got him a new t-shirt (as seen in the picture on this post), a box of cards (that Cooper picked out), and tickets to see Manning & the Broncos play in Cincy for Monday Night Football-thanks to my most favorite customer ever.

Then, we packed a lunch and headed to the zoo for the day!

We called this little Meerkat "Reggie" since he's laying just like Reg.

The chimp exhibit is open!!

And what do ya know? Chimps LOVE babies!! This guy was just staring at Cooper.

Two of my three boys :)

After we went through the exhibits we changed Cooper into his swimming trunks and took him to the little splash pad. Cooper is quite a cling these days and he isn't a big water bug so we thought he would try it, then peace out. Boy were we wrong!

He put his face in one fountain, the preceded to run around like a mad man to hit the different water fountains. Oh and he hugged a little girl who had Dora on her swimsuit. DORA!! (I can't stand Dora. Can I just say that?) Splash pad time was awesome and clearly wore him out-but just like every other child, mine couldn't leave without throwing the epic tantrum. "NO MAMA WATER!! PEAS MAMA!!"

I fixed the tantrum with dry clothes, a snack, and some water. #motheroftheyear

Cooper slept 90% of the way home, then he and I took a 1.5 hour nap on the couch after we got back. I'm telling you-it was GLORIOUS.

After nap time, we did a bit of shopping and ordered pizza (Jon's choice of dinner-we all love pizza AND I don't have to cook? SCORE!!!). Our favorite shopping purchase was a little attachment for our hose that has different water fountains-ala Splash Pad at the zoo. Woop woop!!

Cooper, Reg, and I are so lucky to have Jon as the man of the house! He's wonderful, a great husband, and a great dad to our boys. I couldn't ask for more!

Weekends Lately

Just like everyone, our lives are super busy throughout the weekend--and honestly, the weekends are no different! Partially our fault-we aren't the type to sit around the house.

Here's a recap:

We're going to go back almost a month to Mother's Day weekend. We spent that Saturday at the Zoo. (Love the membership!)

Coop is turning into quite the little kid now. I've noticed more and more lately that he's starting to problem solve and definitely talking more. It's so awesome yet such a strange feeling...where did my baby go??

The weekend after we got back from vacation, one of my girlfriends from college got married! I went on a little roadtrip with my friend Boug (and had a blast-my abs still hurt from laughing so hard). The wedding was awesome and totally George & Danielle's style.

Love these ladies!

I'm totally cheating but this next picture is too cute not to share. This isn't a weekend. It's actually this past Monday playing while dinner is cooking. I love all of these pictures so much! I think it shows the connection Coop and I have and it just melts my heart.

This weekend we took Coop to the Newport Aquarium. We hadn't been in a few months and it was kind of a dreary day so we opted out of the zoo.

We got to the Levee a little early, so we walked on the Riverwalk for a few and then grabbed lunch before heading into the Aquarium.

"Cheeeeeese!"

We stopped for lunch at Tom & Chee. Seriously-we LOVE this place. We stop there for lunch every time we take Coop to the Aquarium.

Coop saw me dipping my sandwich into the tomato soup dipper.

He wanted to dip too...

Next stop, the Aquarium...

We ended the weekend grabbing dinner with our friends Bowman & Emily. Next thing we know, here I am...it's 9:00 and another weekend is in the books.

We have some fun weekends coming up, too!!

Father's Day, a date night, July 4th, a big anniversary...so blessed!
